The Printing Museum boasts one of the largest collections and the only operating type foundry in the Southern Hemisphere. The main collection and foundry is currently located about half an hour north of Wellington. The Museum's educational wing and workshop, the WCBA--the Wellington Centre for Book Arts, was opened in central Wellington in 2019. It's comprised of the former Parliamentary bindery, a printery and composing room. Classes and community projects mainly take place at the WCBA apart from the Linotype and Monotype classes at Mangaroa. |
